South Africa has enormous deposits of Red Iron Oxide in the form of Haematite. African Pegmatite has commercialized on the dross fines milling to superfine grades for colouration of concrete and cement.

Other uses are in cheap Iron Oxide paints. In exotherunic uses such as explosives and in mixtures for erosion of furnace slags. Many hardware stores pack the oxides into smaller 500 and 1000 gm packets for African Cultural painting on their newly build houses.
